WE’RE MOVING! 9/7: 1270 Lincoln Ave #800, Pasadena.
We look at movement, body composition, strength, balance and physical capacity to better understand where you are today.
Not to give you a grade.
The information gives us a baseline we can use when building your program and something we can return to as your training progresses.
How you move gives us information that numbers alone cannot.
Moti Physio is used during the movement portion of your assessment to help us observe and measure movement.
Combined with what we see during the assessment, this gives us another piece of information about where your training should begin.
Body weight tells us one thing. Body composition gives us more context.
InBody is used to measure body composition as part of your baseline. These measurements can be considered alongside your goals and the other information collected during your assessment.
For someone interested in changing body composition, these measurements also give us something objective to compare over time.
The K-invent Force Plates allow us to measure how you produce and distribute force during selected movements.
Depending on the assessment, we can use the plates to look at measures related to strength, balance and how each side contributes to a movement.
The numbers don't determine your program by themselves. They give us information we can consider alongside how you move, what you're capable of doing and what you want to accomplish.
Grip strength gives us another measurable look at physical capacity.
The K-invent Grip allows us to measure grip strength on each side and establish a baseline that can be compared during future assessments.
Like the other measurements, grip strength is one part of the larger picture.
Your movement assessment doesn't exist separately from your strength measurements. Your body composition doesn't determine your exercise selection. A difference between two measurements isn't a diagnosis.
We look at the information together. Your goals. Your training history. How you move. What you can do today. Your strength, balance and capacity. The measurements collected during your assessment.
Together, they help us answer a more useful question: Where should we begin?
From there, we build your program around what you're trying to accomplish.
As you train, we can repeat relevant measurements and compare them with your starting point.
That gives us another way to ask the same question we use throughout Praxis:
Is what we're doing moving you toward your goal?
If it is, we keep building.
If it isn't, we have information that can help us decide what to change.
Come in, establish your baseline and leave with a better understanding of where you are today.
