Safety & Confidence

These are fears about getting hurt, failing, or not belonging.

Am I too old for this?

No. You might need a different starting point than you had at 25. Most of us do.

Trust me, I've asked myself that same question. Instead of giving up, I modify the exercise and keep going.

I'm already hurting. Will this make me worse?

I don't know, we haven't met yet. I don't know what hurts, how long it's been hurting, or what you've tried.

Sometimes people come in thinking their knee is the problem and it turns out the knee is just the part complaining the loudest. That's why I assess, not because I enjoy collecting data.

I want to understand what I'm working with before I start telling you what to do.

If the pain is severe or worsening, I'd want you to see your doctor first.

We'll factor that into the plan.

I've failed before. How is this different?

The difference is how we work. You are the center of the program.

We look at how you move, your balance, your nutritional habits, and what you're trying to accomplish. We build the plan around you. Not around AI. Not around the latest trend. Not around what worked for somebody else.

Every month we reassess. If life changes, we adjust. If the plan isn't working, we change it.

Do I need to be fit before I start?

You start where you are. That's the whole point.

The assessment helps us understand where that is and where you want to go.

Then we get to work.

What if I have a bad week?

Then you have a bad week. The plan adapts. Next week is a different week.

Life happens, and we adapt our sessions keeping your goals in mind.

Why Praxis is Different

Why is this more expensive than a gym membership?

Because it isn't a gym membership.

You're not paying for access to equipment. You're paying for assessments, coaching, nutrition guidance, and a program designed around you.

Some people want access. Some people want guidance.

Praxis is for people looking for guidance.

What am I paying for?

You're paying for assessments, nutrition guidance, individualized programming, and monthly reassessments.

You're paying for progress reporting and monthly comparisons against your initial assessment so you can see how far you've come and where we still have work to do.

Most importantly, you're paying for a plan that changes as you change.

Process & Expectations

What exactly happens after I say yes?

First we talk. I want to understand what you're trying to accomplish and why it matters to you.

Then we do the assessment. We look at how you move, your balance, your nutritional habits, and establish a baseline.

I explain what I see. You tell me if it makes sense. Then we make a plan and get to work.

Every month we reassess, compare against your initial assessment, see what's improving, and make adjustments as needed.

What happens during the assessment?

We look at how you move, your balance, your nutritional habits, and any other areas that may be affecting your performance or quality of life.

The goal isn't to pass or fail. The goal is to understand where you are today so we can make informed recommendations moving forward.

What is the difference between Guided and Partnered?

Guided is dedicated 1:1 coaching.

Partnered is individualized coaching shared with another client.

The assessments, programming, nutrition guidance, and monthly reassessments remain individualized.

The difference is how the coaching time is structured.

Common questions about coaching

If you're still deciding whether Praxis Performance is the right fit, you're not alone. These are some of the most common questions people ask before scheduling a consultation.

How can I improve my physical capacity for daily activities?

Physical capacity isn't about being the strongest person in the room. It's about making everyday life easier. Carrying groceries, climbing stairs, getting off the floor, keeping up with your kids or grandkids, and doing the things you enjoy with more confidence. At Praxis, we build strength and movement around your life, not someone else's workout.

What should I look for in a personalized physical coaching program?

A good coaching program starts with you, not with a template. Your goals, movement, current ability, and how you're feeling today all matter. That's why every athlete begins with an assessment and why your program evolves as you do.

How do I measure my readiness for more intense physical training?

Readiness isn't just about motivation. Sleep, stress, recovery, movement quality, and how your body feels today all play a role. Every session begins with a quick readiness check so we can decide whether today is a day to progress, maintain, or dial things back. The goal is consistent progress, not forcing a hard workout.

What are the best ways to track movement progress over time?

The scale only tells part of the story. At Praxis, progress is measured through movement assessments, balance, strength, mobility, body composition, and how you're moving month after month. Seeing improvement in how you move is often more meaningful than watching a number change.

Can an online coach help me improve my squat mechanics?

Yes, if they're paying attention to how you move, not just counting repetitions. Video review, movement analysis, and clear coaching cues can help improve technique whether you're training in person or remotely.  What matters isn't whether your coach is standing next to you it's whether they're watching how you move.

What are the benefits of observation-based fitness coaching?

Sometimes the smallest adjustments make the biggest difference. Watching how you move helps identify compensation patterns, limitations, and opportunities that aren't obvious from a workout log alone. Coaching becomes less about following a program and more about helping you move better over time.

What are the best fitness programs for beginners wanting long-term results?

The best program is one you can keep doing. It should match your current ability, fit your schedule, and adapt as you improve. Long-term success comes from building consistent habits, progressing at the right pace, and avoiding the cycle of doing too much, burning out, and starting over.
